What is Anyvite?
Anyvite is a site designed to give you the necessary tools to quickly and effectively coordinate plans with your friends, without any unnecessary or confusing features to slow you down.
topWhat's wrong with email?
Nothing, nothing at all. We're just tired of trying to plan things where everyone uses "reply to all" and no one can keep track of what's going on! Worse yet, if someone is away from their computer, they might not get their emails until it's too late.
There's no arguing that email works, we just think there's a better way.
topHow much does it cost?
Free! That's right...zip, zilch, nada!
Put your money away, you'll need it when you're out with your friends.
topIs this ANOTHER social network site?
Nope! Unless you count the fact that we're trying to bring real people together in the real world...then maybe yes. But in the tech world, nope, not another social network. You add friends, but only so you can communicate with them, not so you can see their favorite color or what they are doing at 11:03am on a Tuesday morning.
topWhat do I have to do first?
The best way to use Anyvite is to update all of your profile information, including contact info and notifications. Once that's done, then move on to adding friends and putting them in groups.
topWhat are groups for?
The purpose of Anyvite is to enable you to create events fast and start discussing specifics with your friends. Groups enable you to do this much, much faster.
Basically, you create as many groups as you would like and add in friends who pertain to that group. For example, if you created the "Best Friends" group, then you would add in all of your best friends. Once you have groups created, then you can select them during the event creation process, and all of the friends in that group are automatically invited to the event.
The best part is that once you've created a group and added friends to it, all of those friends can use the group also to create events...so everybody wins!
topWhat is the event feed?
The event feed allows you to keep track of all of your events using RSS. Just add the feed to your RSS feed reader and get updated in real time on new events that you're invited to.
topWhat is the ShareSpace?
A ShareSpace is created automatically when you create an event. It allows you to collect photos and videos of an event in one single place, and share them with all of the attendees.
It works using a method called "tagging". Basically, you upload your photos to flickr.com or your videos to youtube.com, then you tag them in the space provided with the ShareSpace tag we provide you. That's it. Anyvite does all of the rest. Just view the ShareSpace page then to see all of your photos and videos.
Trust us, it's a lot easier than it sounds.
topWhat are the Contact Info and Notifications sections for?
The Contact Info Section is where you enter in all of the ways in which Anyvite can contact you. This doesn't mean that you will automatically be contacted, it just means you have the option to use one of the methods you enter.
The Notifications Section then is a listing of actions that might happen on the site, and you select which communication methods (from the Communication Section) that you would like to be notified with.
How do I use the SMS functionality?
Here's how it works:
- Go into your account, go to settings and then contact info. Enter in your phone number and choose your cell phone provider.
- Now every time one of your friends invites you to an event, you'll get a text message. If you want to respond to the event, all you have to do is reply back with the following:
To RSVP Yes:
rsvp y
To RSVP No:
rsvp n
To add a comment to the event (no quotes):
comment "your comment here"
- The event will be automatically updated with your RSVPs and comments.
- If you're the event creator, you have one additional command that really comes in handy. You'll receive a text message as well on event creation, and you can reply to it with the following command:
To send a message to all invitees:
msg "your message here"
